At MANE we believe beautiful hair and a meaningful salon experience can be an essential part of well-being and genuine self-confidence.

We also know beautiful hair won’t solve all the world’s problems. But, we believe by getting a little creative, our skills as hairdressers can be used to make a positive impact in our community.

In 2022, we decided to create our own charity, Manies Creating Better Days. Under this banner, the MANE Salon team chooses a local charity to support every year. Together, we all vote on the charity that we will support for the year that is near to our hearts and/or aligns with our MANE Salon values.

By simply coming to MANE and getting a haircut you’re helping us to make this difference. Thank you!

MANIES creating a better 2026:

This year, we are proud to announce that we will be supporting the Wellington Women's Refuge.

The Women's Refuge provides support and advocacy for women and children who are experiencing domestic violence. They operate a community office, safehouse and 24/7 crisis line to support and protect the women and children in our community.

We have some exciting events planned to raise money for this amazing cause, watch this space! We can't wait to work together towards a better 2026 ❤️

MANIES creating a better 2025:

This year, the Manies hosted another Pink Ribbon Breakfast to raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Breast Cancer Foundation is a cause that is so near to our hearts here at MANE. With the help of our stylists, our amazing clients, and our friends at Crew Distributors, we

smashed our goal and raised $2,139 for this amazing cause 💖 🎀

This donation will go towards research and innovation in breast cancer research, education and awareness campaigns, patient support services and more!

We cannot thank you enough to everyone who attended the breakfast, donated, and helped to spread awareness for this cause. We couldn't have done it without you, and we look forward to hosting many more Pink Ribbon Breakfasts to come. ☺️💖

Supporting Lifeflight in 2024: Our Commitment to Saving Lives

At MANE, we are proud to announce that our chosen charity for 2024 is Lifeflight, an organisation dedicated to saving lives across New Zealand. Lifeflight provides time-critical aeromedical care, ensuring that approximately 30 people each week receive the urgent medical attention they need.

Why Lifeflight?

The Lifeflight team operates the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Air Ambulance planes, which are essential in responding swiftly to emergencies. These services are crucial for individuals in remote or hard-to-reach locations, offering life-saving care when every second counts.

Our Fundraising Efforts

This year, we are committed to raising funds to support Lifeflight's mission. Here are some of the initiatives we've undertaken so far:

Annual Street Appeal

On May 2nd, our team enthusiastically participated in Lifeflight's annual street appeal. Our dedicated MANIES were out on street corners, collecting donations throughout the day. It was inspiring to see our community come together for such an important cause.

Exciting Raffles

We've also organised two incredible raffles with generous contributions from some of Wellington's local businesses. The raffles are running from July 3rd to August 27th, offering participants the chance to win fantastic prizes while supporting Lifeflight.

PINK RIBBON BREAKFAST / Breast Cancer Foundation

The Manies hosted our first Pink ribbon breakfast to help raise funds and awareness for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ's vital work. 💖 🎀

Here at Mane Salon we have supported many women with breast cancer and 100% want to give back to this excellent charity and what a fun way to do it! The money raised will be used to fund research projects and medical grants to help improve survivorship, as well as support patients and their families during treatment and recovery. ❤️🩹✨

💖 With the help of our fabulous business community, @irisstoreandstudio / @queenbeautysalon_nz / @ikoiko_nz & @crewdistributors we had a raffle with many great prizes, and we also want to take the opportunity to thank all of the wonderful people who have contributed to this great cause. 🫶✨

We smashed our goal and raised over $1000 for the @pinkribbonnz foundation, and we certainly couldn’t have done it without you all! It has been a pleasure to be able to give to this excellent charity and in true Manie style we are already looking forward to super sizing the event next year! Special shout out to our Manie gal @nataliemadehair, who was the driving inspiration behind our very first pink ribbon event! ☺️💖

SHARE THE LOVE WAITING LIST :
Help the Manies “share the love”. We have created a "share the love" list for people out there whom you think deserve a bit of TLC. A little treat from us complimentary! If you would like to nominate someone, send us a DM with their name and number and we will add them to the list, it's that simple! What does 'share the love' mean? When we have last-minute appt availability we will call those nominated to come into the salon to enjoy a complimentary haircut or blow wave on us! It's our way of looking after you and the people you care about. You know, sharing the love.
